Welcome to the newly redesigned modernmatriarchy.org.
After hearing from our readers about what they wanted from the site, we
decided to, for now, to focus on two areas: what Modern Matriarchy is – and
isn’t – and how matriarchy impacts relationships.
I can’t stress enough that Modern Matriarchy, as it is discussed on this
site, has nothing to do with kink. Female domination (femdom) or
sadomasochism (S/M) are different lifestyles.
You might see people, especially men, discussing those lifestyles on our
social media, but those lifestyles fall on the spectrum of Gynarchy and not
Matriarchy. I plan to write an article discussing the differences between Gynarchy
and Matriarchy in the near future.
But, if those activities strengthen and enrich your relationship, then so be
it, but here, for our discussion, Modern Matriarchy is all about letting go of
the societal traditions that can hold us all back from reaching our full potential, especially women.
These traditions for women include taking a man’s name in marriage, not
being publicly acknowledged as the head of the household, or giving up a career
to take care of family or children.
Granted, a lot of men and women are quite happy with the way things are now,
and don’t want or need to change. This site is for those who need and want more
options in their life, and want to help educate society on why these changes
are basic human rights, and are non-threating to others.
“Tradition” and “Fear” always seem to the limiting step when changes in society need to
be made. Discussion seems to help.
I sincerely hope that with your input, Modern Matriarchy will help lead to a better world for all of us.
